$500 Monthly Payments To Alexandrians: Find Out When You’ll Receive Yours

Americans will receive $500 monthly payments in the near future, according to Mayor Justin Wilson of Alexandria, VA. The city received 4,159 applications for its universal basic income program.

170 people have been chosen to participate in the ARISE pilot program, which gives $500 every month for 2 years to low-income residents, according to an article published by the website of City of Alexandria on October 28, 2022. The program aims to reduce poverty and improve economic stability for families. The city will provide case management and research partners to measure the program’s success.

To qualify, Alexandria residents must earn 50% or less of the area’s median income, with a threshold of $49,850 for a household of one and $71,150 for four. The income limits for the ARISE program by household size are available online.

Moreover, applicants must be 18 or older, have submitted their application by November 9, and meet the income limits by household size found online. Proof of citizenship or work is not required.

The first round of monthly checks for the program was originally planned for the last week of January, but it has been delayed to February, as confirmed in an article published by the Patch on  January 4, 2023. The exact date has not yet been announced.
