The PEZ Visitor Center in Connecticut

The PEZ Visitor Center is basically Wonka-lite, complete with vintage dispensers, behind-the-scenes candy making, and enough PEZ history to make you the world’s most random trivia champion.

Come for the nostalgia, stay for the world’s biggest PEZ dispenser, leave with way too much merch. Here are some highlights of the PEZ Visitor Center in Connecticut.

Inside the Most Comprehensive PEZ Collection in the World

The center isn’t huge, but it packs a lot into its 4,000 square feet. You’ll find the biggest public collection of PEZ stuff anywhere on the planet. You can peek through windows to see production, play trivia games, shop at the factory store, and check out the timeline showing how PEZ has changed since 1927.

World’s Largest PEZ Dispenser Experience

Right when you walk in, you can’t miss the star of the show. The world’s largest PEZ dispenser stands 14 feet tall and actually moves to show how the regular ones work.

It’s not just for show either. The giant dispenser serves as a landmark within the center – you’ll find the monthly game cards and directions behind it.

The Famous PEZ Motorcycle Attraction

The center has a custom PEZ motorcycle built by Orange County Choppers that draws in visitors who might not otherwise care about candy. You’ll find this unique bike on the upper level, along with more games and PEZ history. From up there, you get a bird’s-eye view of the whole collection below.

Factory Viewing Experience

While you can’t walk through the actual factory, you still get to see where the magic happens. The center has viewing windows where you can watch workers package PEZ candy and assemble those familiar dispensers. There are also video screens that show the whole process from start to finish.

For the best experience, visit on a weekday. The factory runs Monday through Friday except on holidays, so that’s when you’ll see actual production.

Interactive Monthly Scavenger Hunt

The center keeps things fresh with a changing monthly challenge. You’ll get a game card with clues that send you hunting for specific dispensers throughout the exhibits.

When you finish, you get to spin a wheel for a chance to win a special PEZ dispenser you can’t buy in the store. During holidays, they’ve done themes like an ‘Elf on the Shelf’ hunt where you search for hidden elves among the regular displays.

The Interactive PEZ Story

Walking the timeline is like taking a trip through pop culture history. You can see how PEZ dispensers changed with the trends from the 1950s to now.

You’ll learn about PEZ appearances in movies like E.T. and shows like Seinfeld. Many visitors are surprised to discover that PEZ was originally called ‘PEZ Drops’ and came in small tins before the dispensers existed.

PEZ Memorabilia Beyond Dispensers

There’s way more to see here than just candy dispensers. The center displays tons of PEZ-related items including vintage ads, promotional materials, and packaging from around the world. You’ll find every PEZ dispenser ever created, which means you might spot that rare one you had as a kid.

The Ultimate PEZ Shopping Experience

After learning all about PEZ, you can take some home with you. The factory store stocks almost every current PEZ product, from classic dispensers to limited editions and branded merchandise.

Your admission ticket comes with a $2 credit toward any purchase made the same day. The ‘pick-and-mix’ option lets you combine different PEZ flavors to create your perfect candy assortment.
