Cleveland, OH – Northern Ohio residents should prepare for slippery roads and hazardous travel as a winter weather advisory takes effect today at 4 p.m. The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts snow accumulations of two to four inches, potentially disrupting the evening commute.
According to the NWS, the advisory will remain in place until 4 a.m. Saturday, impacting cities such as Toledo, Sandusky, Mansfield, and Cleveland. Snowfall is expected to intensify after 5 p.m., with a total accumulation of up to four inches by early Saturday. This could lead to treacherous driving conditions on major roadways, including the Ohio Turnpike and I-75. Officials urge drivers to reduce speed, use caution, and delay unnecessary travel.
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) recommends monitoring traffic updates through www.ohgo.com for the latest road conditions. Snowplows will be active, but rapidly accumulating snow could still pose challenges for evening commuters.
Looking ahead, Saturday will see lingering snow showers before skies clear. Highs will reach 32°F, with winds gusting up to 14 mph. Sunday brings calmer weather, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 32°F. However, another system may bring more snow on Monday, with temperatures peaking at 33°F.
Residents are advised to stock up on essentials, ensure vehicles are winter-ready, and stay updated on weather alerts. For real-time updates, visit weather.gov or follow local authorities.
