Minneapolis, MN – A band of light snow will sweep through central Minnesota and western Wisconsin Thursday evening. Accumulations are expected to remain under an inch tonight, but slippery roads could pose hazards overnight.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Twin Cities, temperatures will drop to lows between 13 and 18 degrees tonight, with light snowfall spreading west to east. The snow is forecast to move out of the region by Friday morning, followed by partly sunny skies. Highs on Friday will range from 7 to 15 degrees, with lows dipping to 9 to 13 degrees.
A brief warm-up arrives Saturday, bringing highs between 21 and 31 degrees. However, another round of light snow is expected Saturday afternoon. Total snow accumulation by Sunday morning could reach up to 3 inches.
Sunday morning will see lingering snow tapering off early, with temperatures dropping sharply. Highs will range from 17 to 27 degrees, and lows could plummet as low as -8 in some areas.
Travelers are urged to exercise caution on untreated roads, as even light snow could make conditions slippery. Residents should prepare for colder temperatures heading into next week.
