Cook County Men Charged Downtown Frankfort Armed Robbery Case

Frankfort, IL – Police have announced the arrests of two men linked to a 2023 armed robbery in Downtown Frankfort.

The suspects, Kevin J. Muhammad, 26, and Marcus D. Jackson, 27, both from Country Club Hills, were apprehended last week. The arrests stem from a September 29, 2023, robbery where a victim was threatened at gunpoint. The incident occurred near 28 W. Nebraska Street, with the suspects fleeing in a dark-colored sedan.

Detectives worked diligently to gather evidence and identify the suspects. They utilized witness statements and analyzed physical evidence, including the getaway vehicle. According to Frankfort Police, the investigation led to arrest warrants for Muhammad and Jackson on December 20, 2024.

Law enforcement agencies arrested the suspects in Chicago on separate dates. The U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Jackson on January 2 on N. Dearborn Street. On January 8, they apprehended Muhammad on S. Wentworth Street.

Both suspects face charges of robbery and aggravated robbery. After their arrests, they were transported to Cook County Jail before their transfer to Will County. They are currently in custody at the Will County Adult Detention Facility. Their next court appearance is pending.

Frankfort Police thanked the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Task Force for their assistance. Chief Leanne Chelepis commended the department’s dedication to pursuing justice for the victim and the community.
