Maine, January 8 – Light snow and gusty winds are set to impact northern Maine tonight into early Thursday morning. Snowfall totals of 1-4 inches will affect travel conditions, especially in areas north of Bangor and along the Downeast coast.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will begin this evening and taper off gradually throughout Thursday. Winds may gust up to 30 mph, creating areas of blowing snow and reducing visibility on open roads. Coastal regions will see lighter accumulations, while inland areas face higher totals.

Daytime high temperatures will hover near freezing through the weekend, providing some relief after this system passes. However, forecasters note no major winter storms are expected in the near term. Residents should still exercise caution while traveling tonight and Thursday.
