Phoenix, AZ – Travelers along I-10 in southern Arizona should prepare for strong winds and areas of dense blowing dust this morning, potentially creating hazardous driving conditions. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued warnings for gusts reaching up to 30 mph, with visibility expected to drop in some locations due to airborne dust.
Residents are urged to secure loose outdoor objects and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas. Drivers of high-profile vehicles, in particular, should exercise caution as the combination of wind and reduced visibility may make driving conditions challenging.
The gusty winds are expected to ease by the afternoon, giving way to mostly sunny skies with a high near 67°F. A slight chance of showers remains through early afternoon, though precipitation is expected to be minimal.
Looking ahead, sunny and mild weather will dominate the remainder of the week. Daytime highs will hover in the mid-60s, with overnight lows dipping into the upper 30s to low 40s. Winds are forecast to remain calm after today, providing ideal conditions for outdoor activities through the weekend.
Stay informed and travel safely as conditions improve later today.
