Rain, Snow, and Winds Up to 60 MPH in Northern New Mexico

Northern New Mexico is set to experience a significant weather shift starting Tuesday, with rain and snow showers continuing through Wednesday night. The Tusas Mountains are expected to receive several inches of snow, particularly in areas above 8,500 feet. Travelers in the mountains, especially along Highway 64, should be prepared for hazardous conditions, as a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued.

In addition to the snow, gusty winds will sweep through the region, with speeds reaching 50-60 mph in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and surrounding highlands. Temperatures will drop by 25-30 degrees across eastern New Mexico compared to Monday’s highs.

Thanksgiving Day will bring drier and colder weather, with partly sunny skies. The weekend will see a gradual warm-up with only minimal chances of rain or snow.

Stay prepared for fluctuating weather conditions and travel cautiously!
