Tulsa, OK – A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas, with heavy snow expected to begin Thursday afternoon and continue through Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Tulsa, the affected areas in Oklahoma include Sequoyah, Choctaw, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, Pittsburg, and Pushmataha counties. Neighboring Crawford, Franklin, and Sebastian counties in Arkansas are also under the watch. Forecasters predict total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, with localized amounts potentially exceeding that in southeast Oklahoma.

The storm is expected to disrupt travel, particularly during the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. The NWS has advised residents to prepare for hazardous road conditions and closely monitor weather updates as the storm approaches.
