$250 to $1,658 Direct Payments, Exact Dates Thousands of Americans To Apply and How to Claim

Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program has provided assistance to senior citizens and people with disabilities since 1971.

The Pennsylvanians expects to receive the assistance by September 2022. According to Governor Tom Wolf’s office, the state has received more than 458,000 requests for payments this year.

The American Rescue Plan Act, which President Joe Biden signed into law in 2021, has $140 million allocated from it to fund the program in 2022.

According to an article published by Russo (2022), people over the age of 65, widows and widowers who are at least 50 years old, and citizens with disabilities are all eligible for the state’s rebate program.

Pennsylvania residents must also earn at least $35,000 per year to qualify as homeowners. Renters are limited to $15,000 in total. Income from Social Security is also excluded. Through myPATH, those who qualify can submit an online rebate application.

Those renters and homemakers who will make less than $8,0000 will receive up to $650 in rebates. Up to $500 will be given to those making between $8,001 and $15,000. $300 for homeowners earning $15,001 to $18,000. $250 for homeowners earning between $18,001 and $35,000. But this year, the state introduced a one-time bonus that is equivalent to 70% of your yearly rebate.
