GILLETTE, Wyo. — During its Tuesday night meeting, the Gillette City Council approved a $411,000 bid award to install a new water monitoring building for the Fox Park Subdivision.
The new building will be constructed at East Highway 51 and Fox Park Avenue. It will be used to monitor the flow rates through the 30-inch Madison water line, providing useful knowledge of flow rates that will allow the city water department to better monitor quality and manage water shutdowns, according to the council agenda.
Per the city, the project went out to bid in March 2025, soliciting a total of four bids from Hladky Construction, Powder River Construction, S&S Builders and Wyoming Earthmoving Corporation. Each bid came in under the city engineer’s estimate, which was $534,450.
Hladky Construction submitted the winning bid at $411,120, and the project is fully funded through the city’s Optional 1% Fund.
