GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Board of Commissioners is moving its meeting to Wright this week, opting to meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday for a briefing before the 6 p.m. regular session.
The meeting will take place at Wright Town Hall, 395 Lariat Way. Due to the move and technical limitations, the meeting will not be livestreamed on GPA-TV Channel 192 as it usually would. City staff said a recording will be made available by the week’s end in the Channel 192 archive.
The board’s consent agenda, which allows a single vote without further discussion unless a commissioner requests an item be removed, includes:
- A letter of support for Subtitle C – Federal Lands Section 80302 in the House Committee on Natural Resource Reconciliation Bill addressed to Rep. Harriet Hageman. The letter details Campbell County’s support for efforts led by Hageman to prohibit the implementation of the Bureau of Land Management’s decision to withdraw the Powder River Basin Coal Development Potential Area from future coal leasing.
- Accepting a donation for the sheriff’s office of a 1999 Freightliner with American Lafrance Box from the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security for use as a support vehicle for the Hazardous Device Unit. The estimated value is between $12,000 and $13,500.
Regular business items on the agenda include a Mental Health Awareness and Prevention Month Proclamation with Teddric Walker and Jane Glaser. A draft resolution proclaims May 2025 as “Mental Health Awareness and Prevention Month” in Campbell County, encouraging community support for increased awareness, understanding and action.
Public Works engineer Clark Melinkovich will discuss district support grants with commissioners for Eight Mile, Freedom Hills, Rocky Point and Southfork Improvement & Service Districts.
