Rainy day, even rainier evening with chance of snow in Gillette today

Posted inLatest News

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Showers are once again a near guarantee in the Gillette area today and tonight, with a possibility of snow being mixed in with falling precipitation in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Rain will most likely arrive to the area after 2 p.m. today, making up a 60% chance of precipitation for the day over all. The day’s high will get up to just 57 degrees. Meanwhile, winds will come in at 8-13 mph in the morning and will pick up to 16-21 mph in the afternoon.

Later tonight, rain will once again fall and make up a 90% chance of precipitation. After 2 a.m., snow could potentially be mixed in with the falling rain, but no accumulation of snow is expected by the National Weather Service station in Rapid City, South Dakota. Winds late tonight will once again blow around 18-22 mph.

Showers are going to be very likely tomorrow as well, with cloudy skies and a high of 44 degrees to help make the day feel even gloomier. Winds will calm just a bit compared to today, but will still blow around 14-18 mph and could peak at 28 mph.

Tuesday night will also likely see some showers, but mainly before midnight. Temps won’t fall very much at all compared to earlier in the day — the evening’s low of 43 is one degree cooler than the day’s high.

Chances of rain and lower overall temps will slowly fade as the week progresses, with Thursday being the first day this week in with a high in the 70s and with no listed chance of rain. Following days will be similarly pleasant. See the detailed forecast for more information.
