
ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — A pedestrian was killed April 25 in Sweetwater County in a hit-and-run after being struck along the side of the road by a semitrailer.
At roughly 4:30 p.m. along Interstate 80, close to milepost 99 near Rock Springs, a man identified as 41-year-old Texan Jeremy Simien had parked along the shoulder and was standing outside his vehicle.
The passing semi struck Simien and then failed to stop at the scene. In its report, Wyoming Highway Patrol lists driver inattention, cell phone use and driver fatigue as possible contributing factors.
In a social media post, the WHP is seeking assistance from the public in identifying either the driver or company the driver is with.
