GILLETTE, Wyo. — Significant changes have been approved for some hunt areas in the state as wildlife managers announce the completion of the annual season-setting process, according to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.

The season-setting process is a near year-round effort by the department where field managers collect stakeholder input, survey wildlife populations, hold public meetings, and accept written comments to draft proposed regulations and hunting season-setting recommendations for the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission.

Last week, the commission met in Casper to review season-setting and regulation changes for final discussion and voted for approval. The approved changes will take effect for the 2025 hunting season, per Game and Fish.

According to the department, significant changes were approved for some hunt areas in the state, including modifications to hunting season dates and regulations, which will affect archery season validity and regular season dates.

Less-substantial changes were made, including minor season date changes, harvest quotas, and changes in limitations and boundary changes, Game and Fish says, adding that finalized season information will be made available on the hunting and trapping page as well as the online hunt planner by the beginning of May.

The department encourages hunters who have already applied to check the hunt areas they applied for to see if any changes affecting their licenses occurred during the season-setting process. Residents have until June 2 and nonresidents have until May 8 to modify or withdraw their licenses, according to Game and Fish.
