GILLETTE, Wyo. — Rain and thunderstorms are on their way to the Gillette area. Unlike other parts of eastern Wyoming, however, the rain’s arrival will be delayed in Campbell County until very late tonight.
Meanwhile, today will be mostly cloudy with a high around 54 degrees and somewhat breezy 5–14 mph winds. Gusts could occasionally hit speeds of around 22 mph.
Those clouds hanging over Gillette today will begin dumping rain very late tonight — after 3 a.m. Tonight’s low will be 38 degrees and winds will hold at around 10–14 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Showers from late tonight will persist into tomorrow, when the total chance of precipitation is 90%. Thursday will be around 43 degrees and experience 10 mph winds all day.
Tomorrow night will be similarly rainy, but mainly before midnight. The evening will get as cold as 37 degrees and will still experience 10 mph winds.
After Thursday night, the chances of rain for the Gillette area become a lot less certain. Friday will see only a 20% chance of rain, while Saturday so far appears to not be getting any rain at all. While it may be too early to tell how often it should rain at the start of next week, Monday and Tuesday do present rain. See the detailed forecast below for more information.
