The approved grants, funded through the optional 1% sales tax, are as follows:
- Buckskin Improvement and Service District received $1,958.41 for road blading and dust control. The project included a 33% and 25% match.
- The Central Campbell County Improvement Service District, also known as Sleepy Hollow, was granted $12,086.53 for cleaning sewer lines, representing a 25% match.
- A second grant to the Central Campbell County Improvement Service District totaling $4,140 will fund street sweeping, adhering to a 50% match.
- The High Country Improvement Service District was awarded $2,345 for road blading and gravel within their district.
- Meadow Springs Improvement and Service District received $2,490.23 to purchase and install water meters. This grant has a 33% match due to its relation to regional water.
During the discussion, Commissioner Bob Jordan mentioned rising material costs for road maintenance. Melinkovich acknowledged that material costs, such as gravel, have increased, which could potentially lead to such requests. He said he would reach out to the elections office to understand the process for any potential changes to matching requirements.
