GILLETTE, Wyo. — Wintry weather has arrived in the Gillette area, and today alone could possibly see up to 3 inches of snow accumulation.
Snow will begin after 8 a.m. today as temperatures hang around 31 degrees all day. With wind coming in at 20–22 mph, it should feel as cold as 16 degrees. In total, the chance of precipitation today is 90% and 1–3 inches of snow accumulation is possible, according to the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Snow will continue through this evening as well, especially in the late evening and early night. Windchill values will again make the low of 26 feel even colder, potentially as cold as 15 degrees. Once again, new snow accumulation of another 1–3 inches is possible.
Friday will begin with a 20% chance of snow, but snow accumulation is less likely. Tomorrow’s high will hang around 36 degrees and could feel as low as 16 with windchill. By the evening, temps will likely fall to 21 degrees and feel as cold as 14.
The start of Easter weekend will see temps slowly begin their ascent to more springlike levels, though they won’t quite recover to what they were in recent days. Rain and snow are still in the forecast, however. See the detailed forecast below for more information.
