Homicide Investigation Takes Place After Tornado Touches Down in Arkansas

Jason Davenport was found dead with apparent gunshot wounds hours after a tornado has touched down in Little Rock, Arkansas. A homicide investigation about the incident is ongoing as there is no suspect in custody to date.

In the evening of March 31, the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) reported a homicide incident at 2000 South Pulaski Street near its intersection with Charles Bussey Avenue. The victim, Jason Davenport, 46, was found dead on the crime scene with apparent gunshot wounds.

An article on the City of Little Rock, Arkansas’ website states that to date, there is still no suspect in custody and the homicide investigation is still ongoing. The incident has reportedly taken place hours after a tornado has touched down in Little Rock, Arkansas. Davies states that, unfortunately, Arkansas is only one of the several states across the U.S. that has suffered over the weekend. Almost 29 individuals have reportedly died where 5 of them were from Arkansas. Near Little Rock, particularly, 4 individuals have died in a community 100 miles east away from the capital of Arkansas.

Homicide Investigation Still Ongoing

According to Hennigan, on April 3, Mayor Frank Scott Jr. of Little Rock held a meeting with the city’s officials. They assured the public that the city will remain in peace and order during the continuous tornado clean-ups. In addition, Police Chief Heath Helton stated that there will be added enforcement placed in the city following the severe storms apart from the regular patrols that are still taking place. This year, the LRPD has unfortunately reported 14 cases of homicide.
