In April 2021, Christopher Huggins, 36, was arrested after an 11-year-old child disclosed about a sexual assault incident to a school counselor. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) stated that this child victim was Huggins’ adopted relative.

According to Webb, after the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division reported of the sexual assault incident, Lieutenant Kieth Lunsford procured a search warrant for Huggins in his home on Delaware Bay Road in eastern Logan County. Pieces of DNA and digital evidence were obtained from Huggins’ home. All of these evidence were forwarded to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory thereafter. Since 2021, Huggins has remained in the Logan County Detention Center after his arrest.
