According to Fuller, Ivey defined that the Tax Rebates 2023 will be a one-time rebate of $400 to $800 to the taxpayers of the state of Alabama. Ivey explained that the economy of Alabama is thriving, hence, the plan to distribute money to the residents of the state.

Other Plans Included in the Proposal
According to Chandler, Ivey’s proposal also included a plan to increase the salary of teachers by 2%. By the end of her term, Ivey intends to increase the teachers’ starting salaries to the highest, provide more funds for start-up charter schools, and establish kindergarten as a requirement before proceeding to first grade.
However, even if these plans aim for the betterment of students, teachers, and parents, the legislative leaders of the Democrats are not showing support yet. Instead, the Democrats proposed to improve the Medicare program to help more poor and working families or remove Alabama’s 4% grocery tax on food.
