Local News in Bronx: An Alleged 15-year old teenager is Suspected of Getting Involved of Death of a 27-year old man.

A Bronx fire last week claimed the life of a 27-year-old man and left another covered in serious burns. The man was seen sliding from the roof of the building in an attempt to escape the house fire.

Authorities continue to search for a woman who may have had a role in the deadly fire. Police in New York City detained a 15-year-old girl for allegedly starting a fire that claimed the life of a 27-year-old man.

The NYPD announced the arrest of a 15-year-old on Sunday for the deadly Soundview arson on January 29. The suspect, who cannot be identified due to her age, faces murder, assault, arson, reckless endangerment, and criminal mischief charges. The victim, Abdoukarium Sakolly, 27, died as a result of fire-related injuries.

He suffered serious burns across his face and hands. Surveillance video apparently captured the teen suspect outside the building around the time of the fire. Authorities stated that they suspected it may have been a bottle of lighter fluid. The video also showed the victim sliding down the roof of his apartment building to escape the inferno.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. People with information regarding the matter are encouraged to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) (Wehner, 2023).
