Local News in California: White Cargo Van Was Found Responsible for Dance Hall Shooting

The white cargo van connected to the dance hall shooting was discovered on Sunday in Torrance, California, according to Sheriff Robert Luna of the Sheriff’s Department for Los Angeles County.

According to the sheriff, the suspect, Huu Can Tran, 72, entered a shopping center parking lot. When a SWAT team from the sheriff’s office arrived on the scene, they found Tran had shot himself dead, according to Luna.

Democratic U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu expressed optimism that the case would be classified as a hate crime by the investigating team.

While he emphasized that investigators have not yet confirmed this because they have not identified the 10 dead victims, Luna told reporters that it is assumed that each of the victims is Asian.

Five of the killed victims were female and five were male, according to Luna.

However, in regards to the most recent Monterey Park incident, investigators are still trying to determine the cause and the whereabouts of the suspect.

All of that is covered by the investigation, Luna said. The investigation is still in its early stages, the sheriff emphasized.

Although some witnesses described a white cargo van, Luna pointed out that there is no evidence linking it to the massacre.

Numerous witnesses are being questioned, according to the sheriff. President Joe Biden made the following statement in a statement made public on Sunday morning: “Jill and I are praying for those killed and injured in last night’s deadly mass shooting in Monterey Park.
