Hernandez, 23, was arrested on December 29th on two counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of transmitting child pornography, and one count of using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony. In addition to the child pornography charges, Hernandez is also facing four counts of possession of beastiality images under a new law that went into effect in October. The Highlands County Sheriff’s Office stated that Hernandez’s collection of child pornography is the largest it has ever seen. Hernandez was arrested for the second time on Tuesday after investigators went through the electronic devices seized during his arrest last month. He had been out on bond.
The detective said that the nearly 1,200 new charges resulted from looking through just one of his 15 devices. They stated that there was no telling how many charges he could face if detectives went through all the devices. The sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook that the investigation was just getting started and that there would likely be a lot more charges than anyone in the county had ever seen.
The authorities encourage anyone who may have Information about the possession or distribution of child pornography to contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children or their local law enforcement agency.
