$3,000 in Tax Money Available: Two Urgent Deadlines in February – Check Your Eligibility Now!

February tax deadlines are approaching, with potential thousands of dollars available for US taxpayers to claim. Two deadlines exist in February for Americans to claim an average of thousands of dollars in tax money.

The IRS reports that the average 2021 tax refund for Americans was $3,000, as stated in an article published by The U.S. Sun on January 11, 2023.  Many Americans still need to file their returns and tax rebate money is still available.

February is an important month for tax filing. Eligible taxpayers who were granted extensions due to Hurricanes Ian and Fiona in Florida, South Carolina, and Puerto Rico should take note of the deadlines for filing their 2021 tax returns.

In South Carolina, the deadline for filing 2021 Individual Income Tax returns is February 15th, and taxpayers can receive up to $800 through a cash assistance program.

Taxpayers in South Carolina can expect to receive up to $800 in cash assistance based on their 2021 tax liability, with checks being sent out in March. Tax liability is determined by subtracting credits from the income tax owed. For those with tax liabilities under $800, the rebate will be equal to that amount.

The IRS has extended the tax deadline for Florida residents affected by Hurricane Ian, allowing them until February 15th to file various individual and business tax returns and make payments. Taxpayers who received a valid extension with a deadline of October 17, 2022, will now have until the new date to file their 2021 returns.

Tax payments for 2021 returns that were due on April 18, 2022 are not included in the relief. You can find a complete list of localities on the IRS website.

A tax time themed montage for US taxpayers with a hand full of money fanned out.
