On November 13, 2022, police responded to a call about “unconscious individuals”. Four students of the University of Idaho— one man and three women— were found brutally murdered off-campus at their rental house on King Road. A month has already passed since the incident but the suspect is still on the loose. However, according to the chief of Moscow Police, investigators are positive that the suspect will be apprehended soon. The police announced that they were looking for the owner of a white 2011 to 2013 Hyundai Elantra found near the victims’ house around the time of the killings and received so many calls, says FOX 13 News.

According to an article from the New York Times, local authorities described the incident as a “crime of passion” on November 14. Moscow, Idaho Mayor Art Bettge stated in an interview that the case is still under investigation but the authorities treat it as a homicide. The Latah County coroner, Cathy Mabbutt, also said that all four deaths were considered a homicide. Ms. Mabbutt’s office conducted autopsies on November 16, however, she could not provide any information about the report without approval from the police.
