Get $800 Within 16 Days: South Carolina Tax Rebates on the Way!

In just a little over two weeks, people who live in South Carolina and have already filed their 2021 taxes will get a rebate of up to $800.

The rebate that people in South Carolina receive will depend on the amount of their tax liability in 2021, which is calculated by subtracting credits from their income tax.

According to a statement released by the South Carolina Department of Revenue on November 14, 2022, if a person’s tax liability is less than $800, their rebate will be the same as their liability. If a person’s liability is $800 or more, they will receive a rebate of $800.

Before this year ends, this rebate will be received by the residents that already filed their 2021 SC1040 form by October 17. For those who received their 2021 refund through direct deposit, the rebate will also be deposited in the same bank account.

According to state legislation found on the SC State House website, the maximum amount that people can receive from this rebate is $800, as set by the Department of Revenue.

Recipients can track this payment using their Social Security number or the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number from their SC1040 form. They will need one of these numbers to use the tracking site.

Those who have not yet filed their tax returns have until February 15 of next year to do so to receive the rebate. If they file by this date, they will receive the rebate in March 2023.
