The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published a new study that determined which of the three COVID-19 vaccinations approved in the United States is the most beneficial in reducing hospitalizations, ICU visits, and possible intubation, per Mount Vernon.
According to a recent CDC research, the Moderna vaccine was somewhat more efficient than the Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccinations in reducing hospitalizations.
The CDC analyzed about 32,000 people treated in hospitals across nine US states during the summer and decided that the Moderna shot was the most effective among all available vaccines in the country.
The Three Most Effective Vaccines
The three vaccines appeared to be 86 percent efficient in preventing hospitalizations, with Moderna patients exhibiting 95 percent protection, Pfizer at 80 percent, and Johnson & Johnson’s single-shot vaccine at 60 percent.
The most recent CDC research does not define what makes the Moderna vaccine more successful than its competitors. However, according to one theory, its doses are three times greater, and the gap between the two shots is four weeks rather than three.
According to reports, researchers discovered that extended intervals between doses, maybe even beyond four weeks, may help develop tolerance towards the virus.
The COVID-19 vaccine, which appears to be beneficial in reducing severe sickness or hospitalization in people who get the virus, is still being pushed by federal and local health officials.
