A Gainesville woman has reportedly been arrested after police said that she almost killed a 1-year-old child.
Georgia Babysitter Arrested
According to a FOX NEWS article, Abby Elizabeth Chosewood, 23, has been charged with felony aggravated assault and cruelty to children after the baby was reportedly strangled or suffocated in February, according to the authorities.
Abby Elizabeth Chosewood, a 23-year-old Gainesville resident, was charged with felony aggravated assault and felony cruelty to minors. She is accused of sexually assaulting a youngster while the child was in her care earlier this year.
According to a Facebook post from the Gainesville Police Department, Chosewood is suspected of suffocating and/or strangling a one-year-old child in February 2023. Police did not disclose any other information beyond saying that the child was almost killed by the crime.
Evidence Against Chosewood
A Gainesville police officer alleged that it took the authorities many months to gather evidence against Chosewood because there were no nanny cams to film the incident.
Lt. Kevin Holbrook reportedly told WSB-TV that it is impossible and that no information is available to explain why this happened. Given that the child is obviously too young to be truthful with us, we might never learn this. However, it is obvious that Chosewood is fully aware of what took place, and perhaps this knowledge will be revealed in court.
Chosewood was incarcerated at the Hall County Jail for the course of the investigation. She was released on bond, as WSB-TV reported on Monday.
The Gainesville Police Department is actively looking into the incident. There is currently no additional information available, reported from WSB-TV.
