While the 48 contiguous states typically have lower benefit amounts, certain U.S. territories, including Alaska, Hawaii, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, provide larger SNAP payments. However, these areas have already issued their December benefits, leaving Guam as the highest-paying territory for the remainder of the month.
SNAP Payments in Guam
Guam offers some of the largest SNAP benefits in the country. For example, a single recipient in Guam can receive up to $431 in December, far exceeding the $292 offered to individuals in the 48 contiguous states. Families in Guam can also receive substantial assistance, with the following benefit amounts:
- 1 person: $431
- 2 people: $790
- 3 people: $1,132
- 4 people: $1,437
- 5 people: $1,707
- 6 people: $2,049
- 7 people: $2,264
- 8 people: $2,588
- Each additional member: +$324
Guam’s SNAP payment schedule is based on recipients’ Social Security Numbers (SSN). Payments will be issued as follows:
- SSN ending in 8: December 8
- SSN ending in 9: December 9
- SSN ending in 10: December 10
